Can a Tamil movie like Endhiran be the biggest hit of India?

It's not easy to get the biggest hit in India making film in a language bulk of populations of 27 out of 28 states don't understand. And even less if the cultural ethos doesn't match up to the mainstream (ex. Raavan).  Endhiran will be big grosser in Tamil Nadu, and possibly couple other territories nearby. As for all over India, there's little chance of that right now. In fact, Hindi Raavan was a flop but it was bigger grosser in India and worldwide than the Tamil Raavanan which was billed a success. The top grosser in India by the end of the year is typically a Bollywood movie due to both language and cultural reasons.

Given that Endhiran is releasing around same time as Dabangg, if Dabangg's a hit, there's a good chance Dabangg itself may outcollect Endhiran. Tamil Nadu notwitstanding, Endhiran will have to be an extraordinary initiative to register in the radar of bulk of theater going masses of India at large.
